Hartford Deputy Chief Dies After Cancer Battle The Hartford Police Department is mourning the loss of one of its own. Deputy Chief Jason Lee has died after a battle with cancer, his department said Sunday, Sept. 27. Lee graduated with Hartford Police Academy Class 2005-1 and went on to serve in Patrol, the Safe City Initiative alongside Connecticut State Police, the Southwest Conditions Unit, and the Crime Scene Division. Gregory McHugh, 42, of Guilford, fired eight rounds into one home on Dec. 21, 2022, and four rounds into another on Oct. 24, 2023, prosecutors said.  Both homes were in Guilford. The storm exposed wooden wreckage along the south shore of Nantucket, Massachusetts, on Saturday, Sept. 26. The remains are believed to be from the Warren Sawyer, a three-masted wooden schooner that sank off the island's coast in December 1884.
