225-Year-Old Historic CT Home Destroyed In Fire: 'A Work Of Art Is Gone' A historic Connecticut home built in 1800 went up in flames Sunday morning, Feb. 23, killing several cats and displacing a family, authorities said.  Firefighters were called to the 6,000-square-foot 139 Hartford Road home in Manchester just before 1 a.m. Crews from multiple companies battled the blaze for 40 minutes before getting the flames under control, Manchester authorities said.  No one was injured, but the home was left uninhabitable. CT Man Pulled From Burning Car After Crash Dies at Hospital A 42-year-old Connecticut man was killed on Wednesday evening, Feb. 19, when he lost control of his sedan and slammed into a utility pole in Windham County, authorities said. Michael Ryan Theriault, of Moosup, was behind the wheel of a Nissan Altima heading south on Ekonk Hill Road (Route 49) in Sterling around 5:30 p.m. when his car left the road and hit the utility pole, Connecticut State Police said. The sedan came to rest in a ditch and burst into flames. A Good Samaritan pulled Theriault from the vehicle before the fire began. Paramedics rushed him to Plainfield Backus Emergency Care …

CT Police ID 67-Year-Old Man Found Dead Inside Burning Car Police have identified the 67-year-old man who was found dead inside a burning vehicle over the weekend.  Roger Dailey, of Middletown, was located inside the vehicle at Riverport Park in Cromwell on Sunday, Feb. 16, police said.  Multiple people called 911 to report the blaze off River Road. Firefighters didn't find Dailey's body until they had put out the blaze, Cromwell police said.  It's unclear what sparked the blaze. The Office of Chief Medical Examiner has ruled the death accidental.
