These CT Eateries Named Best Restaurants For Wine, New Rankings Say
Several Connecticut restaurants are the cream of the crop when it comes to their wine offerings, according to new rankings released by Wine Spectator.
A total of 36 eateries were recognized as winners of the 2024 Restaurant Awards released by Wine Spectator, a publication that serves as a leading authority on wine.
The restaurants named as winners of the awards, which were made public on Tuesday, June 25, are (by county):

Severe Storm Knocks Out Power To Thousands In Connecticut
Tens of thousands are without power after a severe storm swept through the Northeast overnight.
At around 7;15 a.m. Thursday, June 27, a total of around 48,000 customers in Connecticut are without electricity, according to poweroutage.us.
Most of the outages are in Hartford and Litchfield counties, with a combined 33,808.

A man pulled from Connecticut reservoir was a talented musician who attended Central Connecticut State University in New Britain, according to the university.

Kai Thomas Boapeah, age 21, who has ties to Ghana, Africa, and Worcester County, Massachusetts, in the town of Dudley, was recovered in New Haven County on Thursday, June 20, in Seymour Reservoir #2 in New Haven County in Oxford.

Two Connecticut men are facing federal charges after allegedly carjacking an off-duty NYPD sergeant at gunpoint.
New Haven County residents Jomar Crespo, age 21, and Jose Rivera, age 20, both of Waterbury, were arrested by federal agents on Tuesday, June 18, on suspicion of carjacking and related charges.
According to the US Attorney’s Office for the Southern District, Crespo and Rivera donned black clothing and facemasks before approaching the victim’s car from behind in Harlem on Friday evening, June 14.
