'Heartbreaking': CT High School Senior Killed In Crash With Dump Truck
School officials in Connecticut announced to parents that a Fairfield County high school senior was killed in a car crash on Wednesday, Sept. 11. Max Harper, an 18-year-old senior at Staples High School, collided with a fully loaded dump truck on Old Hill Road near Patrick Road as they negotiated a difficult turn in opposite directions, Westport Police said. Max died at the scene, authorities said. Man Dies After Crashing Car, Attempting To Swim Across Pond In Tolland County
A Connecticut man who crashed his Chevy Malibu and then attempted to swim across a pond to get away died in the water. The incident occurred in Tolland County around 10 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 6, in Vernon. Vernon Police Lt. Robert Marra said officers responded to the crash on Snipsic Street and East Main Street. When they arrived, Marra said they found the unoccupied Malibu with significant front-end damage. Officers began to search for the driver. Three teens were nabbed for an alleged armed robbery after a police pursuit, crash, and foot chase in Fairfield County. The arrests occurred in Westport around 5 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 18. According to Westport Police Chief Foti Koskinas, the department received information from Trumbull Police to be on the lookout for a black Infiniti occupied by three suspects reported to be involved in an armed robbery in Trumbull. Community members are coming together to support the family of a 37-year-old man killed in a crash on a busy Connecticut roadway. The effort came following a crash in Tolland County on Tuesday, Aug. 13, when two vehicles collided on Route 32 (River Road) in the town of Willington near the intersection with Battye Road, according to Connecticut State Police. Four people were killed in a head-on crash on a Connecticut roadway overnight. The incident happened around 11 p.m. Friday, July 19, in Waterbury on Thomaston Avenue when a car traveling south slammed into a northbound vehicle, causing both vehicles to burst into flames, according to authorities. According to Chief Fernando Spagnolo of the Waterbury Police Department, an investigation determined both vehicles were speeding.
