State Investigating Hanging Death Of Man While In Police Custody
State investigators are probing the in-custody death of a 36-year-old man who died while being held at the Stamford Police Department.
The Office of Inspector General, in collaboration with Stamford police, confirmed that Jamal Linton was found unresponsive in his cell on Sunday evening, Jan. 26, hours after being arrested on multiple charges, including second-degree assault and strangulation.

A Danbury man is facing charges of drug possession and use of paraphernalia after police say they found him asleep in his car at a Darien school with cocaine and other drug-related items, police said.
The incident happened early on Jan. 2, at Hindley School, located at 10 Nearwater Lane, Darien police said. Around 2:30 a.m., officers were checking on a suspicious vehicle parked at the school when they found Jonathan Havanick, 27, asleep inside, police said.

A 49-year-old Connecticut man faces potentially decades in prison after he allegedly defrauded and stole $3.5 million of his client's money for years, federal authorities said.
Justin C. Murphy, 49, of Stamford, is charged with 15 counts of wire fraud, five counts of money laundering, and three counts of tax evasion, the US Attorney for Connecticut announced on Tuesday, Nov. 5.

Kevin Calle, age 28, of Stamford, was on his motorcycle driving westward on Tresser Boulevard at the intersection of Atlantic Street just before 7:45 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 30, authorities said.
