Beloved Stratford Police Officer, 56, Dies Unexpectedly Police, family, and friends are mourning the loss of a longtime and much beloved Fairfield County police officer who died unexpectedly.  Stratford Officer Ken Kubel, age 56, died earlier this week. He served with the Bridgeport Police Department for 25 years from 1990 to 2015, retiring with the rank of sergeant, said Capt. Robert Burroughs of the Stratford Police.  Kubel then continued on in his police career by serving another nine years as a Patrol Officer with the Stratford Police Department from 2015 to 2024.
