Lightning Sparks House Fires, Damage To Multiple CT Homes Two homes were damaged overnight after lightning struck during a sudden thunderstorm that blew through the area, causing damage from multiple lightning strikes.  Westport firefighters were busy battling fires sparked by two of those strikes.  One of the strikes hit a house on Joanne Circle, setting fire to the second floor. CT House Fire Displaces 11 People; Cause Of Blaze Under Investigation Eleven people were forced out of their home after a fire tore through a Norwalk building overnight.  The fire at 19 Adams Lane was reported just before 2 a.m. on Tuesday, May 13. The emergency caller told Norwalk dispatchers that the blaze began as a kitchen fire in the basement but had crept through the one-story building, firefighters said.  Norwalk crews arrived to find heavy smoke pouring out of the roof and eaves, but they were able to knock down the flames quickly, authorities said.  No one was injured in the blaze, but it displaced 11 people. More Than 20 People Displaced In CT House Fire More than 20 people were displaced after a fire damaged a multi-family home in Norwalk on Tuesday, April 29.  The fire began at a three-story home at 30 Lexington Ave. just after 2:30 p.m. The fire began on the first floor, and many people on the second and upper floors did not realize the building was in flames.  Firefighters alerted them and helped evacuate the building while battling the fire.  Thankfully, there were no injuries. Boat Fire Sends Up Smoke At CT Marina Firefighters raced to a Connecticut marina after a blaze began inside a boat. The fire began in Middlesex County on Monday, Nov. 25 just before 12:30 p.m., when a boat was seen on fire at a marina in Old Saybrook, according to the Old Saybrook Fire Department. Driver Jumps Out Of Passing Car To Help Resident Who Escaped From Seymour House Fire A Connecticut resident received heavy burns to his head and face while escaping from his burning home. The incident occurred in New Haven County on Lynn Terrace around 6 p.m., Thursday, in Seymour.
