A New York man was arrested in Greenwich after a simple shoplifting accusation led police to fake DEA badges, tactical gear, and illegal weapons in his car, police said.
Gentian Gjana, 33, of Yonkers, faces multiple charges following his arrest on Thursday, June 26.
Officers were called to a Greenwich store around 1 p.m. after an employee reported that a man and a woman stole a pair of $548 sunglasses, authorities said.

A 14-year-old Trumbull teen was robbed at gunpoint on New Year's Eve while riding his dirt bike on the Rails to Trails path, authorities said.
Giovanni DeJesus, 19, of Bridgeport, was arrested shortly after the incident, recovering the stolen bike and an illegal firearm, Bridgeport police said.

A Fairfield County man was caught with guns, ammo, and fentanyl after police received a tip from the Crime Stoppers Gun Tip Program.
Kevin Llewellyn, age 31, of Stamford, was charged on Saturday, July 7 in Stamford.
According to Assistant Chief Richard Conklin of the Stamford Police, agents with the Narcotics and Organized Crime Unit received the tip that Llewellyn had a firearm.
