CT Woman Busted Driving Wrong-Way In Old Saybrook, Led Cops On Slow-Speed Chase: Police A Connecticut woman was arrested after allegedly driving the wrong way on Route 9 in Old Saybrook while intoxicated, according to police. Patricia Shanahan, 58, was taken into custody on Saturday, Jan. 18, around 10:30 p.m., following a slow-speed chase between Exits 2 and 3 on Route 9, Connecticut State Police said. Troopers said they spotted Shanahan driving north in the southbound lanes and stopped their cruiser in front of her vehicle to pull her over. Driver ID'd In Fatal In Single-Vehicle Crash On Route 9 In Haddam Police have identified the 61-year-old man who was killed on Thursday, Jan. 2, when his car crashed on Route 9, authorities said.  Francisco Alves Ribeiro, of Danbury, was driving south around 6 a.m. when his Honda Accord left the roadway and crashed into a tree in the grass median near Exit 19, Connecticut State Police said.  Police closed the highway for several hours as they cleaned, cleared, and investigated the scene.
