Isaiah Sabat, 19, was arrested on Monday, March 10, after he allegedly punched a Trumbull police officer in the face and shoved another as they tried to put handcuffs on him, officials said.

Officers were called to a home on Wilson Avenue in Trumbull around 8 p.m. after family members called for help when Sabat began attacking his girlfriend, police said. Police did not say if the girl was injured in the assault.

Despite his best efforts, Sabat was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct, assaulting a public safety officer, and interfering with an officer/resisting arrest, Trumbull police said.

One of the officers was taken to Saint Vincent's Hospital to treat a cut to his face and other minor injuries from the alleged attack.

Sabat was being held on a $150,000 bond, police said.
