A fight that started over a political sign led to a street brawl involving a bicycle, a smashed car window, and even a pair of pliers, police said.
Just after 9 a.m. Friday, July 25, officers responded to multiple calls about two men fighting at the intersection of Brook Street and Farmington Avenue in Bristol.
The individuals were identified as 36-year-old Tomek Paluch, of Bristol, and 65-year-old John Provenzano, of Torrington.

A 17-year-old Connecticut boy will spend three years behind bars for fatally stabbing another teen during a fight outside an East Haven elementary school, state officials announced.
Jeter Simmons, who pleaded guilty to manslaughter in the first degree, was sentenced to eight years in prison, suspended after three years, on Monday, Jan. 15, the New Haven Judicial District State’s Attorney’s Office said. He will also serve three years of probation after his release.

Electric Biker Hit By Drunk Driver In CT Still In Critical Condition, Police Say
A man who allegedly hit an electric bike rider on his way home from work at Walmart has been charged with alleged DWI and assault.
The incident occurred in New Haven County on Wednesday, July 17, on Cook Avenue in Meriden.
According to Sgt. Stanley Zajac of the Meriden Police, the bicyclists were riding north in the northbound lane of Cook Avenue, which is marked as a shared bicycle lane.
A 2017 Dodge RAM driven by Todd Wheeler, age unknown, of Meriden, was traveling north on Cook Avenue, struck the bicycle in the rear, throwing the victim into the roadway, Zajac said.
