A brewing disturbance in the Atlantic has forecasters eyeing a late‑October window for possible impacts along parts of the US East Coast. A broad disturbance in the central Atlantic is quickly organizing and now has a high chance of becoming the season’s next tropical depression or named storm, forecasters said. Rapidly Strengthening New Tropical Storm Expected To Become First Hurricane Of Season
A newly named, rapidly strengthening tropical storm is likely to become the first hurricane of the 2024 season. Tropical Storm Beryl, the second named storm since the season began on Saturday, June 1, is now located about 820 miles east-southeast of Barbados. It has maximum sustained winds of 65 miles per hour and is moving west at 23 miles per hour.
