Drunk Driver Slams Into CT Home; BAC Nearly 3 Times Legal Limit Authorities say a Connecticut drunk driver went off the road overnight, hit a utility pole, and then slammed into a home around 1:45 a.m. Jose Martinez, 30, of Waterbury, faces multiple charges following the Wednesday, Jan. 7, crash near 1021 Pearl Lake Road in Waterbury, police said. Officers were called after Martinez’s Jeep Grand Cherokee lost control, hit a utility pole, and then struck the home. Martinez was the sole occupant of the vehicle, and no one inside the home was injured, police said. Structural engineers deemed the home safe, but police did not release the extent of the dama…

CT Man Killed In Route 32 Crash ID’d; Police Investigating Authorities have identified the 66-year-old man who was killed earlier this month in a crash on Route 32 in Montville.  Alfred J. Krajewski, of Montville, was killed on Dec. 18 around 5:30 p.m. when his car struck a guardrail and crashed into a wall, traffic light post, and utility pole, police said.  It's unclear what caused his car to leave the road and crash.  Paramedics rushed Krajewski to Backus Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.  Montville police are investigating the crash.

Plane Crash Leaves 1 Dead, 1 Critically Injured In Mass One person is dead and another is fighting for their life after the plane they were in crashed on a suburban street Thursday morning, June 19, authorities said.  The single-engine plane crash happened around 8:45 a.m. at Sam Fonzo Drive in Beverly, near the Beverly Regional Airport. Images from the crash site show the plane came to rest against a utility pole. CT Driver Killed After Crashing Into Utility Pole; Police Seek Witnesses A single-car crash on Wednesday, May 7, left a driver dead after the vehicle struck a utility pole, police said. Multiple 911 calls came in just after 1:20 p.m. reporting a serious crash at 21 Fort Hill Road in Groton, between Depot Road and South Road, authorities said. CT Man Killed After Crashing Into Utility Pole A 60-year-old Connecticut man died in a single-car crash after his vehicle veered off the road and slammed into a utility pole, authorities said. The Manchester resident, whose name has not been released, crashed around 10:30 a.m. near 138 W. Center St. in Manchester. First responders rushed him to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Manchester police are still investigating the cause of the crash.
