Authorities in Connecticut say they caught two armed robbery suspects using a piece of new technology and one of policing’s oldest tools. A clerk at a Neighbors Mart on Center Street in Manchester called 911 shortly before midnight Tuesday, Dec. 16, to report that two men tried to rob him at gunpoint. The worker said the men came in wearing black, pointed a gun at him, and demanded cash. The clerk ordered them to leave, and the suspects ran away empty-handed, Manchester police said. A Connecticut man tried twice to run from state troopers but was caught after a police dog found him hiding under a deck, police said. Dylan Scott, 27, of Manchester, faces multiple felonies following multiple incidents on Friday, Sept. 5, Connecticut State Police said. It all began when Scott refused to pull over during a traffic stop and sped away in Vernon just before 11 a.m., authorities said. Beloved CT State Police K-9 Officer Dies At Age 6 Due To Medical Complications
The Connecticut State Police are mourning the loss of a beloved K-9 officer. Elmer was assigned to Detective David Collins of the Fire & Explosion Investigation Unit. K-9 Elmer, who was 6 years old, was laid to rest on Saturday, July 6, due to medical complications. Det. Collins and K-9 Elmer graduated from the Connecticut State Police 212th Accelerant Detection Class in the fall of 2020 and have served for the last three years.
