CT Tractor Trailer Driver Involved In Fatal NY Crash: Sheriff Authorities have released details in the Friday, Jan. 17 crash along Route 9 that left one person dead in Putnam County. Norton Segarra, 74, of Beacon, NY was heading south when he veered into the northbound lanes and was struck by a tractor-trailer driven by a 60-year-old Milford, CT man around 1:30 p.m. near Route 403 in Garrison, County Sheriff Kevin J. McConville said. Duo Nabbed In Jewelry Store Burglaries Targeting Hudson Valley Businesses Two suspects are behind bars in connection with a string of jewelry store burglaries that targeted businesses in the Hudson Valley and Connecticut. In Dutchess County, police were called at around 4:30 a.m. Thursday, June 13, for a burglary in progress in Beacon at Sky Diamond Jewelers on Main Street.
