$1M Cross-Country Title-Washing Ring Used Stolen Porsches, Audis, BMWs In PA: AG
A high-end title-washing ring based in central Pennsylvania profited more than $1 million by selling stolen luxury cars from Florida, Attorney General Dave Sunday announced on Wednesday, Aug. 6.
The fraudulent operation was allegedly led by 44-year-old Anthony E. Troncoso, who, with a network of 12 others, used fake documents to “wash” vehicle titles, then sold over two dozen stolen cars to private buyers, dealers, and auction houses between 2022 and 2023, according to AG Sunday.

Dashboard Failure Could Hide Speed Or Warning Lights, Prompting Recall Of 44K+ Audis
Audi is recalling nearly 45,000 vehicles because a dashboard glitch could prevent drivers from seeing their speed or critical warning lights, officials said.
The recall affects about 44,387 Audi vehicles from model year 2021, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. Recalled models include the A6, A7, A8, Q7, Q8, RS6 Avant, RS7, RSQ8, S6, S7, S8, SQ7, and SQ8.
A software error can cause the instrument panel display to fail, the NHTSA said. Drivers might lose access to vital information like their speedometer or warning lights – increasing the risk of a crash.

Greenwich Ferrari Heist: Teen, Man Accused Of Stealing Multiple Luxury Cars
A Connecticut teen and 22-year-old man with long criminal histories are accused of stealing a $575,000 Ferrari from Greenwich and later an Acura from New York, authorities said. It's not the first time they've been linked to a stolen luxury vehicle.
Keon Webster, 18, and Dion Schontten, 22, both of Waterbury, are charged with stealing a motor vehicle, authorities said. This is Schotten's second time he's been charged with that crime and Webster's seventh, Waterbury police said.
