Blaze Engulfs 2 Boats At CT Dock, Threatens To Destroy Several Others
A late-night blaze at a Connecticut boat club badly damaged two boats and threatened several others before firefighters had the flames under control, authorities said. Firefighters were called to the South Norwalk Boat Club just before 11 p.m. to the dock at 17 Mack Street to find a 40-foot boat engulfed in flames, officials said. Intense winds spread the fire to another vessel of similar size, putting nearby boats at risk of catching fire. Firefighter Hurt, Family Left Homeless After CT Blaze
Connecticut fire investigators are looking into what sparked a house fire that left a family of five homeless and a firefighter injured. The blaze began in Fairfield County around 8:20 p.m. at a house in the 40 block of Alpine Street in Bridgeport, authorities said. Beloved CT State Police K-9 Officer Dies At Age 6 Due To Medical Complications
The Connecticut State Police are mourning the loss of a beloved K-9 officer. Elmer was assigned to Detective David Collins of the Fire & Explosion Investigation Unit. K-9 Elmer, who was 6 years old, was laid to rest on Saturday, July 6, due to medical complications. Det. Collins and K-9 Elmer graduated from the Connecticut State Police 212th Accelerant Detection Class in the fall of 2020 and have served for the last three years.
