4 Hurt In Weekend Crash; Firefighters Cut 2 From Wreckage
Connecticut firefighters had to cut two people from a vehicle that crashed over the weekend with four people being hospitalized in the Fairfield County wreck, authorities said. The crash was reported around 1 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 2, near 119 Junction Road in Brookfield, fire officials said. A Fairfield County woman became stuck in the raging river after she went in to save her dog and had to be rescued by police and fire personnel. The incident occurred in Trumbull around 10:15 a.m., Monday, Aug. 19, when her dog was swept away in the Pequonnock River. Two Connecticut women who died after being swept away by floodwaters in separate incidents have been identified. According to the National Weather Service, the incidents occurred in New Haven County around 5:15 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 18, on Route 67 in Oxford, which received more than 10 inches of rain. According to Connecticut State Police Cpl. Daniel Loughman, the women were in vehicles stuck in floodwaters that washed away their cars from the Little River. Bystanders and emergency responders revived a 15-year-old after being found in the water of a CT apartment complex pool. The incident occurred in Hartford County around 6:45 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 8, at the Concierge Apartments in Rocky Hill. According to Sgt.
