Man Found Dead In CT After Police Discover Submerged Vehicle
A local man was found dead in the Aspetuck River after police were notified of a submerged vehicle in Fairfield County. The incident occurred in the town of Fairfield around 12:40 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 22. According to Fairfield Police Sgt. Michael Stahl, the Weston Police Department notified the department of a vehicle submerged in the Aspetuck River, directly behind Aspetuck Falls in Fairfield. A 24-year-old Fairfield County man has admitted in court to sexually abusing an 8-year-old girl while working in the school system. Peter Wheeler, age 24, of Fairfield, pleaded guilty on Thursday, Aug. 8, in Bridgeport Superior Court, according to Joseph T. Corradino, State’s Attorney for the Judicial District of Bridgeport. 2 Critically Injured After Being Struck On Sidewalk In Westport
Two people are in critical condition after a vehicle veered off the roadway in Fairfield County and hit two pedestrians on a sidewalk. The incident occurred in Westport around 6:45 p.m. on Imperial Avenue near Post Road East. According to Westport Police Deputy Chief David Farrell, police, fire, and EMS were dispatched to the scene following a 911 call. Police have identified a man who disappeared in the waters off the Connecticut coast. The incident occurred in Fairfield around 12:10 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 3, near Lighthouse Point and Penfield Reef. Alert Issued For 16-Year-Old CT Girl Missing Over Week
Police are asking for help in locating a Connecticut teenager who has been missing for over a week. Jomana Ali, age 16, was last seen on Elm Street in the town of Fairfield at around 5:45 p.m. Tuesday, July 2. Police said Ali may have traveled out of state and could have been in the New York/New Jersey area at some point on Wednesday, July 3. Police in Fairfield County are warning residents to check their bank statements after a skimming device was found on an ATM at a gas station. According to Sgt. A Fairfield County elementary school student was struck by a vehicle crossing the street to reach their bus stop.
