A 69-year-old Connecticut man said he didn't plan to shoot anyone after waving his pistol at a driver who had cut him off in traffic, authorities said. Joaquim Pereira, of Wethersfield of Hartford County, is charged with first-degree threatening with a firearm, first-degree reckless endangerment, and second-degree breach of peace in connection with the road rage incident, Connecticut State Police said. Several people were hospitalized Sunday night, Oct. 20, after a tractor-trailer rollover crash that spilled fuel along I-84 in Hartford County, police said. The crash was reported around 11:30 p.m. near eastbound Exit 39 after a car crashed into the truck carrying produce, causing it to roll, Connecticut State Police said. A 22-year-old man who was a star running back for a Connecticut semi-pro football team was killed after crashing his car on I-91 in Hartford County, authorities said. Davian Andrew Pallotto, of Prospect in New Haven County, died after he rolled his 2007 Cadillac CTS around 11:15 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 11, Connecticut State Police said. Connecticut DOT workers are cleaning up the mess and inspecting the damage after a truck with a crane mounted to it crashed into an overpass on I-91 in Hartford County. The truck struck the Route 190 bridge overpass in Enfield around 9:15 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 10, forcing workers to close three out of the four lanes, Connecticut State Police said. Griswold Crash Leaves Massachusetts Trucker Dead
A 42-year-old Middlesex County, Massachusetts, man died after crashing his truck down an embankment along I-395 in Connecticut. Tim Murray, of Ashby, crashed his Freightliner truck in Griswold, New London County between Exit 24 and 28 around 8:30 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 8 Construction had closed the southbound right-hand lane of the highway. A Connecticut man was killed following a crash with a garbage truck in Fairfield County. New Haven County resident Carlos Davila, age 30, of Ansonia, was killed around 6 a.m., Wednesday, July 3, in the area of 14 Mill Plain Road in Danbury. According to Erin Henry of the Danbury Police, Davila was driving a motorcycle when the crash occurred with a garbage truck.
