These CT Eateries Named Best Restaurants For Wine, New Rankings Say
Several Connecticut restaurants are the cream of the crop when it comes to their wine offerings, according to new rankings released by Wine Spectator.
A total of 36 eateries were recognized as winners of the 2024 Restaurant Awards released by Wine Spectator, a publication that serves as a leading authority on wine.

A Connecticut police officer who responded to a report of a fight was seriously injured and hospitalized after being punched in the face.
The incident occurred in New Haven around midnight on Saturday, June 22, in the Fair Haven area of town.
According to Officer Christian Bruckhart of the New Haven Police, officers responded to an address in the Fair Haven section of the city on the report of a fight in progress.

New Haven County resident Leon Guerrero, age 31, of New Haven, was found guilty of murder by a jury on Wednesday, June 5, said John P. Doyle Jr., State’s Attorney for the District of New Haven.
According to evidence introduced at trial, Guerrero shot the victim, Tayna Rodriguez, age 26, of New Haven, on Sunday, April 23, 2023.

Bridgeport Inmate Strangled, Death Rule Homicide, ME Says
A Connecticut man who was arrested for violation of probation was strangled in a cell in a Fairfield County jail.
Steven Bailey, age 43, of New Haven, was found dead in a Bridgeport Correctional Center cell around 7 a.m. on Sunday, May 26, according to the Connecticut State Police.
Milford Police had arrested Bailey on Wednesday, March 20, and he was being held for violation of probation on a prior conviction of obscenity with a minor.
State Police said after being found, Bailey was transported to St. Vincent's Hospital in Bridgeport, where he was pronounced dead.
