Ellington Woman Killed In Snowmobile Crash At Tolland County Ski Resort, Passenger Hurt A 49-year-old woman was killed this week after the snowmobile she was piloting crashed at a Tolland County resort, authorities said.  Jamie Gallicchio, of Ellington, was involved in a crash around 3:20 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 22, at Sun Valley Resort at 51 Old Springfield Rd. in Stafford, police said.  Gallicchio was ejected from the snowmobile in the crash. Ski patrol and emergency crews helped paramedics rush her to Johnson Memorial Hospital, and doctors there later airlifted her to St. Francis Hospital in Hartford, where she died of her wounds hours after the cra…

Train, Tractor-Trailer Involved In CT Collision An Amtrak passenger train and a tractor-trailer were involved in a crash in Connecticut. The collision occurred in New Haven County at a railroad crossing on Sackett Point Road in North Haven at 5:50 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 9.  North Haven Police said an investigation is underway, and commuters are asked to avoid the area and expect delays. Only minor injuries were reported, North Haven Police said. A train engineer was hospitalized. School Bus Crashes With Vehicle On CT Roadway One person received minor injuries during a crash between a vehicle and a school bus in Connecticut. The incident occurred in New Haven County around 7:30 a.m., Monday, May 20, at 38 Indian Trail in Waterbury. According to Lt. Ryan Bessette with the Waterbury Police, the school bus had 14 students at the time, and no injuries were reported by the bus operator or any of the students.  Bessette said the operator of the other involved vehicle was transported to an area hospital and treated for minor injuries.  The incident remains under investigation.
