Sock And A Hard Place: NJ Driver Gets Crafty In Attempt To Dodge $18K In Tolls, Officials Say A New Jersey man was arrested and charged after he tried to use a pair of socks to keep him from paying tolls, authorities said. On Friday, Sept. 26, officers observed a vehicle with a suspiciously obscured license plate at the Holland Tunnel and conducted a traffic stop, Port Authority police said.  The driver, Dwight Bartley, had no E-ZPass transponder and instead had stretched socks over his license plate in an attempt to dodge Tolls by Mail cameras, police said. Andujar Escarraman, 20, of New London, was clocked at 108 mph on Route 2 in Marlborough around 3:13 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 27, Connecticut State Police said. Troopers spotted the BMW near Exit 13. Drunk Driver Crashes U-Haul Into Car In Wilton, Police Say A Long Island man driving a U-Haul truck was charged with alleged DUI in Fairfield County after he passed another vehicle and struck it. The incident occurred in the town of Wilton on Wednesday, July 31, on Danbury Road (Route 7). According to Lt.
