130 MPH: East Hartford Teen Tries To Vanish In High-Speed Chase, Fails, Cops Say
A teenager accused of reaching 130 miles per hour during a high-speed chase, driving without headlights at night, and using a "vanishing license plate" was arrested this week near his home, authorities said.
Kelvin Cao, 19, of East Hartford, faces several charges stemming from the chase in Berlin, according to the Connecticut State Police.
Police said they attempted to stop Cao on Route 9 in March, but he refused to pull over. Troopers say Cao made “several unsafe passing maneuvers around other traffic” and even “shut their lights off in the dark" to avoid capture.

A hit-and-run on I-95 turned into a dramatic arrest after Connecticut State Police discovered the driver involved was not only drunk, but also wanted on multiple warrants, including one from out of state, authorities said.

Marshals Help Nab Man Wanted For Stalking, Violating Protective Order
US Marshals arrested a wanted Connecticut man charged with violating a protective order, authorities announced.
Jeremy Colonghi, 47, of New London, was charged with stalking, criminal violation of a protective order, harassment, disorderly conduct, and refusal to be processed, police said.
Waterbury police, working with Marshals and Groton officers, arrested Colonghi in Groton on Friday, May 2.
Colonghi was being held on a $215,000 bond, authorities said.
He was wanted on an outstanding failure to appear warrant.
