Police in Connecticut are investigating a former group home employee who is accused of attacking an autistic patient so violently that the non-verbal woman needed to be hospitalized, authorities said.
Kendra A. Demudd, 28, of Hartford, was arrested and charged with assault on a person with an intellectual disability, reckless endangerment, and cruelty to persons, Wethersfield Police said. She was being held on a $50,000 bond.

A Connecticut man is facing several felonies after police said he crashed his car, fatally wounding his passenger, and then moved the victim to a friend's car rather than get help earlier this year in New Haven County. The man would later die of his injuries.
Luis Sanchez-Sagbay, of Bristol in Hartford County, was arrested on Wednesday, Oct. 23, and charged with misconduct with a motor vehicle, interfering with an officer, reckless driving, driving without insurance, operating a motor vehicle without a license, and improper use of a marker plate, Wolcott Police said.

Woman Who Fatally Hit Cyclist Then Sped Away Arrested: Police
A woman who police say crashed into a bicyclist, causing him fatal injuries, and sped away in New Haven County has been arrested weeks later.
Gloria Sanchez, 32, of Waterbury, was charged Thursday with evading responsibility in a death, criminal misrepresentation, and failure to renew registration, authorities said.
Investigators said Sanchez crashed into 37-year-old Luis Caceras, of Waterbury, around 6 a.m. at the Cooke Street and Grove Street intersection and then drove away.
After an investigation, police arrested Sanchez earlier this week.

Teen Killed After Crashing Car Into Tree In Manchester
A 19-year-old Connecticut woman was killed over the weekend after she crashed into a tree in Hartford County, authorities announced.
Tolland County resident Makayla Theriaque, of Vernon, was identified as the victim in a Sunday evening, Aug. 25, crash in Manchester, police said.
Officers were called to 233 Buckland Hills Drive for reports of a car crashing into a tree, Manchester police said.
Paramedics rushed Theriaque, who was behind the wheel, to an area hospital, where doctors pronounced her dead.
