Man Who Hit Woman With His Car To Play Out Rape Fantasy Admits To Attempted Murder: DA
A Connecticut man who intentionally crashed his car into a woman and attempted to drown her as part of a rape and kidnapping fantasy admitted this week to multiple felonies related to the attack, authorities announced. Mynor Romeo Alvarado-Canahui, age 35, of Norwalk, will spend 25 years in prison and register as a sex offender when he's released as part of his plea deal, the State's Attorney said. Driver Jumps Out Of Passing Car To Help Resident Who Escaped From Seymour House Fire
A Connecticut resident received heavy burns to his head and face while escaping from his burning home. The incident occurred in New Haven County on Lynn Terrace around 6 p.m., Thursday, in Seymour. According to Seymour Fire Marshal Timothy Willis, when firefighters arrived, they found the home fully engulfed in flames and an injured resident who had "self-evacuated." 4 Rescued From Long Island Sound In Norwalk During Height Of Severe Storm
Four people who were not wearing life jackets were rescued from the waters of the Long Island Sound in Fairfield County. The incident occurred in Norwalk on Saturday, Aug. 3. According to members of the Norwalk Police Department's Marine Unit, the rescue took place during a large thunderstorm on Aug. 3 after the men's boat capsized. The department said that because there were no personal floatation devices onboard the vessel, the men had to tread water until help arrived. No one was injured.
