Suicidal CT Man Who Wanted Police To 'Kill Him,' Injures Officers During Arrest, Cops Say A Connecticut man who was allegedly suicidal and wanted to be killed by police was taken into custody after fighting and injuring several officers. The incident occurred in New Haven County in Hamden on Wednesday, Aug. 7, at the Hamden Plaza. According to Lt. Raymond Quinn of the Hamden Police, the department received word that the East Haven Police were trying to locate and arrest Derrick Gilliam, age 29, of New Haven. 59-Year-Old Man Killed In Single-Vehicle CT Crash A 59-year-old Connecticut man was killed after police say he lost control of his car. The incident occurred in New Haven at approximately 12:45 p.m. on Monday, July 15, on I-91 southbound in the area of Exit 2. According to Connecticut State Police, a preliminary investigation revealed that Segundo Manuel Guaman, of Hamden, who was driving a Toyota Camry, veered towards the right across all other lanes for an unknown reason and entered the Exit 2 gore area.  The Toyota then continued through the gore area, striking the off-ramp sign support and the impact attenuator, state police…

1 Rescued From CT River After Kayak Capsizes One person was rescued from a Connecticut river after their kayak capsized as dusk approached. The incident occurred in New Haven County around 7:50 p.m., Tuesday, July 2, in the Quinnipiac River in North Haven. According to North Haven Fire Chief Paul Januszewski, the department responded to the river for the report of a kayak that had capsized with people in the water.  Another 911 call was placed and answered by Hamden, resulting in both North Haven and Hamden fire departments responding to the Quinnipiac River.  North Haven firefighters deployed a boat from a launch on Sacke…

1 Nabbed In Attempted Carjacking In CT Convenience Store Parking Lot, Police Say A juvenile was charged with allegedly attempting to carjack an occupied vehicle after forcefully throwing a driver to the ground in an attempt to steal their car. The incident occurred in New Haven County around 10 a.m., Thursday, May 23, in Allentown Fresh at 1941 Dixwell Ave., in Hamden. According to Lt.
