West Hartford Shooting: High-Capacity Mag Seized, 2 Arrests Made, Police Say
Two men have been arrested in connection with a shooting that left one person injured Wednesday afternoon, Dec. 18, in West Hartford, and one of the suspects was found with a high-capacity magazine, police said.
Richard Aponte, 19, was found at the scene with a high-capacity magazine following the 2:49 p.m. shooting near 134 Hillcrest Ave., Capt. Peter Juda said. One person was found having suffered non-life-threatening gunshot wounds, Juda said.

A 23-year-old man accused of fatally shooting a young mother and her infant son in Connecticut was arrested in Puerto Rico, authorities announced.
Lance Morales, the suspect in the drive-by shooting that killed 20-year-old Jessiah Mercado and her 4-month-old son, Messiah Diaz, was taken into custody Saturday, Nov. 23, by the U.S. Marshals Violent Fugitive Task Force, the Marshal Service said.
He was found at a home in Fajardo, Puerto Rico, and is being held on a $3 million bond.

A federal investigation dismantled a drug trafficking operation allegedly run out of a Connecticut car dealership, leading to the arrest of 13 people on narcotics distribution charges, authorities said.

A Fairfield County man was caught with guns, ammo, and fentanyl after police received a tip from the Crime Stoppers Gun Tip Program.
Kevin Llewellyn, age 31, of Stamford, was charged on Saturday, July 7 in Stamford.
According to Assistant Chief Richard Conklin of the Stamford Police, agents with the Narcotics and Organized Crime Unit received the tip that Llewellyn had a firearm.

Two Connecticut men are facing federal charges after allegedly carjacking an off-duty NYPD sergeant at gunpoint.
New Haven County residents Jomar Crespo, age 21, and Jose Rivera, age 20, both of Waterbury, were arrested by federal agents on Tuesday, June 18, on suspicion of carjacking and related charges.
