New Haven Bound Train Hits, Kills Man In Massachusetts
A 43-year-old Western Massachusetts man was killed after he was struck by a train Thursday morning, Nov. 21, authorities said. The unnamed Deerfield man was hit around 8 a.m. on the tracks on South Main Street near Thayer Road, the Northwestern District Attorney's Office said. The cause of the crash remains under investigation. According to Amtrak, the Valley Flyer Train 471 was traveling from Greenfield to New Haven. Train, Tractor-Trailer Involved In CT Collision
An Amtrak passenger train and a tractor-trailer were involved in a crash in Connecticut. The collision occurred in New Haven County at a railroad crossing on Sackett Point Road in North Haven at 5:50 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 9. North Haven Police said an investigation is underway, and commuters are asked to avoid the area and expect delays. Only minor injuries were reported, North Haven Police said. Man Falls On Train Tracks In Fairfield County, Rolls Under Amtrak Train, MTA Says
A man who fell on the tracks at a Fairfield County train station was lucky and was able to roll under an Amtrak train. The incident occurred in Bridgeport at around 9 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 6, at the train station at 525 Water St. According to Dave Steckel with the Metropolitan Transportation Administration, the unidentified man rolled under the Amtrak train and did not make contact. Woman Fatally Shot Near CT Amtrak Station
An investigation is underway after a woman was shot and killed during a dispute near a Connecticut Amtrak station. The incident occurred in New Haven County around 10:10 p.m. on Monday, July 22, in the area of 161 State St., in Meriden. According to Lt. One person was rescued from a Connecticut river after their kayak capsized as dusk approached. The incident occurred in New Haven County around 7:50 p.m., Tuesday, July 2, in the Quinnipiac River in North Haven.
