CT Man Found Dead Inside Burned Home
A man was found dead inside his home after a fire in Fairfield County. The blaze broke out in Stamford around 6:55 p.m. on Friday, May 3, at 48 Powel Place. According to Stamford Police Capt. Tom Scanlon, after extinguishing the fire, Stamford firefighters discovered the homeowner, Mark Palmer, age 67, dead inside the house. Scanlon said that the Stamford Fire Department Fire Marshal, Connecticut State Police Fire Investigators, and the Stamford Police Arson Unit responded to the scene and collaborated to assess any indications of foul play. …

A portion of a suspended concrete ceiling over a stairway vestibule at the Stamford Train Station collapsed, sending riders scrambling to get out of the way. State officials have released the identities of two men killed in a boating accident off the coast of Fairfield County. The men have been identified as Cristofer Cifuentes, age 26, and Ludyn Cifuentes, age 41, both of New York City, said Will Healy, spokesman for the Department of Energy and Environmental Protection. Two people were injured during a three-vehicle collision in Fairfield County.
