A 75-year-old man has admitted to beating a 10-year-old Hampden County girl with a rock and leaving her to drown in a river in Western Massachusetts. Donald Mars, of Bedford, pleaded guilty Thursday, May 2, to manslaughter after he was indicted in the 1966 murder of Betty Lou Zukowski, the Hampden County District Attorney said. $3K Reward: Puppy Found Dead In Milk Crate In CT
Police and animal control officials are investigating and offering a reward after a puppy was found shot dead in a milk crate in Connecticut. The puppy was discovered in New Haven County around 12 p.m. on Saturday, July 8, in the hamlet of Fair Haven, said Capt. Rose Dell, of the New Haven Police. Dell said two officers on patrol found the puppy in the crate on Poplar Street. An investigation was started with the help of Animal Control officers who discovered the puppy had been shot. Friends and family of a 20-year-old Massachusetts woman who died in a hit-and-run crash in Connecticut were stunned and horrified as news of the weekend wreck spread through social media. But there was a common thread amongst most of the posts: they want justice. Hampden County resident Yaseri Cortes, of Springfield, was killed just before 10:30 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 19, in Enfield.
