Man Struck, Killed Walking In Travel Lanes On CT Roadway Connecticut State Police are asking for witnesses after a 53-year-old man was struck and killed while walking in the travel lanes of I-91. The crash occurred in North Haven around 9:15 p.m., Monday, April 1 on I-91 northbound adjacent to Exit 9. Connecticut State Police reported that Arthur Taylor, of New Haven, was walking in the travel lanes when a 2020 Ford Explorer struck him. Taylor was thrown into the grass center median where he was pronounced dead on the scene, state police said. Rollaway Risk Prompts Recall Of Over 230K Ford Explorers Ford is recalling 238,000 of one of its best-selling SUVs over concerns that a defect could increase the chance of more crashes, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration announced.   The recall is for 2020-2022 Ford Explorers. A rear axle mounting bolt is at risk of breaking and could cause the driveshaft to disconnect, the NHTSA said. The crash happened in South Windsor on westbound I-291 near the Exit 4 on-ramp at about 11:20 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 14, Connecticut State Police said. Jose Cotto, of Windsor Locks, was riding a 2017 Harley-Davidson XL 1200 Forty-Eight when, for unknown reasons, he lost control of the motorcycle and it tipped over, causing Cotto to be separated from the motorcycle, police said.
