Severe Thunderstorm Watch In Effect For Fairfield County With a new round of storms heading eastward, a Severe Thunderstorm Watch has been issued for much of the region. It covers all eight counties in Connecticut, and in New York, the following counties: Westchester Putnam Dutchess Columbia Rensselaer Washington The watch was issued at 1 p.m. Friday, July 21, and is in effect until 8 p.m. Friday. Danbury Woman Charged With DWI In Putnam County Stop New York State Police troopers busted more than a dozen motorists who were allegedly driving while impaired over the weekend in the Hudson Valley. The local residents charged were: Westchester County On Saturday, Dec. 1, State Police from Hawthorne arrested John D. Fuller, 59, of Cortlandt, for DWI, and aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, both misdemeanors. He was traveling on the Sprain Brook Parkway in Greenburgh when he was found sleeping on the Parkway. The investigation revealed that he was impaired by alcohol, and he was subsequently arrested. There's A New Moose On The Loose In Area The area is filled with all sorts of wild animals, from coyotes to black bears to bobcats, but moose sightings are extremely rare. That's why social media is abuzz with comments from Northern Westchester residents who've reported seeing a moose that has been making the rounds in the area. It was last spotted on Thursday, June 28 near the Teatown Lake Reservation Nature Preserve and Education Center, which is located in the towns of Yorktown, Cortlandt and New Castle.
