Starbucks is cutting 1,100 corporate jobs as part of a sweeping restructuring plan designed to simplify operations and refocus on its core business. Starbucks CEO Brian Niccol announced the layoffs in a message to employees on Monday, Feb. 24. The job cuts will affect non-retail support employees, as the coffeehouse chain works to streamline leadership and eliminate duplicate roles. Canadian Airline Expands To LGA, Offering Daily Flights To Toronto Without Middle Seats
A Canadian airline will soon fly from LaGuardia Airport for the first time. Porter Airlines is expanding its presence in New York City with the launch of year-round service between LGA and Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ), the company said in a news release on Monday, Jan. 27. Porter will fly roundtrip up to three times daily starting on Thursday, May 1. Nine Inch Nails are heading out on tour for the first time in three years, the rock band said. Nine Inch Nails have announced their long-awaited "Peel It Back Tour 2025", Live Nation said in a news release on Wednesday, Jan. 22. Man Who Abducted Son In 1987 Located, Arrested In Connecticut
A man who allegedly kidnapped his toddler in Canada, changed his name and came to America was arrested in Connecticut on Friday after more than three decades on the run. Allan Mann, Jr., who has dual Canadian and Ghanaian citizenship, allegedly abducted his 21-month-old, Jermaine Allan Mann, in Canada in 1987 during a court-ordered visit in Toronto. He then allegedly came to America, and acquired counterfeit birth certificates for the two of them. He also changed his name to Hailee Randolph DeSouza.
