Beginning Friday, Oct. 1, all passengers will be required to buckle up, including those in the back seat of the vehicle, Gov. Ned Lamont said. Police Dish Out 13 Tickets In Safety Detail On Route 6 Near Putnam/Fairfield County Border New York State Police troopers teamed with Connecticut State Police and the Danbury Police Department to dish out more than a dozen tickets during an “occupant safety checkpoint” detail in Putnam County near the Connecticut State line. A total of 13 tickets were handed out by police during the detail, which was conducted on Route 6 and Danbury Road in Southeast, near the state line, two of which were seatbelt or passenger restraint-related violations. Here's How Many Crashes State Police Have Responded To So Far During Thanksgiving Holiday Connecticut State Police officials have released the number of calls for services and vehicle crashes troopers have responded to so far entering Thanksgiving weekend, during the holiday enforcement period. As of early Saturday morning, state police received 5,046 calls for service since the start of Thanksgiving Holiday enforcement period.  "We responded to a total of 244 reported accidents with unfortunately one of those accidents being a fatal motor vehicle accident," state police said.
