16 Charged In Takedown Of CT Fentanyl, Heroin Distribution Ring
Sixteen people are facing various charges stemming from the gang-related distribution of fentanyl, heroin, and cocaine in Connecticut and other areas in the region.A federal grand jury returned the 27-count indictment charging the defendants on Wednesday, June 8, according to an announcement from Vanessa Roberts Avery, United States attorney for the District of Connecticut, on Tuesday, June 28.

Paula W. Petersen, 72, of Ridgefield, died on Sunday, Oct. 31. She was the wife of the late John S. Petersen, Jr.
Paula was born in Schenectady, NY on July 9, 1949 — a daughter of the late Henry and Ruth (Whitney) Weltzien. She graduated from Roosevelt High School in Yonkers and Pace University in Pleasantville.
A resident of Ridgefield since 2003, Paula previously resided in Ridgefield from 1978 to 1988 and Westchester County from 1988 to 2003. Paula was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church of Pleasantville, NY. In her spare time, she enjoyed bridge, sewing, crafts and baking.

Dr. Donald Gordon Of Ridgefield, With Two Offices In Fairfield County, Dies Suddenly
A "dedicated physician" with two offices in Fairfield County, Dr. Donald Gordon, of Ridgefield, died suddenly on Wednesday, Aug. 21, at age 64.
Gordon was born to Leo and Fryda Gordon on June 15, 1955, in Schenectady, New York.
Dr. Gordon earned his bachelor of science from American University in 1977, and a doctor of medicine (MD) from the Emory School of Medicine in 1981. He completed his residency in internal medicine at Emory Hospital in 1984 and his gastroenterology hepatology fellowship at the Medical College of Georgia in 1986.
