I-684 Stoppages Scheduled While Crews Perform Utility Activities
Traffic stoppages have been planned in both directions on I-684 in Westchester as contractors conduct construction activity in the area. The New York State Department of Transportation issued an alert warning motorists that a traffic stoppage is expected on Saturday, July 27 on I-684 northbound from midnight until 12:30 a.m. and southbound from 12:30 a.m. through 1 a.m. The closures are planned between exit 3 (Route 22) and exit 4 (Route 172). This story has been updated. Both lanes on a stretch of I-84 have reopened after a serious crash. The crash occurred eastbound approaching I-684. Traffic had been diverted off at I-684 southbound before the lanes reopened around 8 p.m. on Thursday, July 4. Earlier, a downed tree took out the right and center lanes of northbound I-684 at Exit 6A (Route 22/Route 138) in Goldens Bridge before being cleared early in the evening.

Saw Mill Parkway Stretch, Route 22 Reopen After Crash, Downed Tree
This story has been updated. The southbound lanes of a stretch of the Saw Mill Parkway have reopened after a serious multi-vehicle crash. The crash occurred south of Exit 42 (Railroad Avenue) in Bedford at around 8:30 a.m. Nearby, Route 22 reopened in both directions after a downed tree and wires in the area of Route 138 in Lewisboro. There were also earlier delays on southbound I-684 just before 9 a.m. after a crash just north of Exit 8 (Hardscrabble Road) in North Salem) that is blocking the right shoulder. Motorists in the Hudson Valley can expect temporary delays this week on I-684 as contracting crews close down the ramp to I-287 to conduct construction activities in the area. This story has been updated. There was midday gridlock on a stretch of I-84 following a crash with a serious injury that blocked the left lane for about an hour on Memorial Day, Monday, May 27. The incident occurred eastbound in Putnam County one mile east of the junction to I-684 (Exit 20). Stop-and-go delays stretched back three miles until the lane reopened.

The I-684 crash was northbound at I-84 (Exit 9), with traffic backed up to Hardscrabble Road (Exit 8) in North Salem through around 8 p.m. The Saw Mill Parkway crash occurred on the southbound side in the area of Croton Avenue/Route 133 (Exit 36) in Mount Kisco just before 7:30 p.m., causing delays both ways until it was cleared.
