A fitness studio chain that focuses on helping guests improve their mobility through stretching is preparing to open its fourth Connecticut location. StretchLab will host the grand opening of its new Fairfield County location at 11 a.m. on March 11, the company announced. The new facility is located at 121 Towne St, in Harbor Point in Stamford. A Connecticut native and fitness enthusiast died at home on Tuesday, Oct. 19. She was 34 years old. A Princeton native, Zimmerman was raised in Rocky Hill, and had been living in Milford, New Jersey since 2014, her obituary says. She graduated high school in 2005 and went on to attend Syracuse University's Whitman School of Business. Zimmerman had been working as a product manager for health supplements with Healthy Directions, and previously as a marketing director for Planet Fitness and The Edge Fitness Clubs. A brand-new fitness facility is set to open in Fairfield County this week. D1 Training will launch the new location in Norwalk on Saturday, Oct. 30, the company announced. A fitness trainer in the area has died at age 28. Bruce A. Swanson of Brewster died on Monday, Oct. 22. He was born on Jan. 24, 1990 in Carmel, the son of Bruce and Mary (Sammarco) Swanson and brother of Victoria and Michael Swanson. He graduated from Brewster High School, was a member of the National Honor Society and of several modified and high school football teams. He also played lacrosse and baseball.
