Local residents charged include:  Westchester County On Friday, Dec. 20, State Police from Brewster arrested Michael A. Verella, 44, of Somers, for DWI. He was traveling on Interstate 684 in the town of Southeast, when he was stopped for a violation of the vehicle and traffic law. Downed Tree Causes Hourslong Route 22 Closure This story has been updated. A stretch of Route 22 near the border of Northern Westchester and Putnam was closed for hours due to a downed tree. The closure, reported just before 7 a.m. Friday, Aug. 2, was in both directions in the area of Danbury Road (Route 6) in Southeast. The roadway reopened around noontime.
