Saidman finished seventh in the Midget Girls division for runners born in 2000 and 2001.
Saidman ran 11:25:11 for the three kilometer race, which featured 263 runners. She was less than six seconds behind the third place runner. Taylor Roe won the race in 11:04.9.
Saidman becomes yet another All-American for the Wilton Running Club. Aaron Breene earned All-American honors last year. He qualified for this year’s race, but elected not to participate.
Saidman is coached by Mary Zengo, the club’s distance running coach. She traveled to the meet with her family and Wilton coach Kevin Foley.
Saidman, 11, lives in Bethel and attends St. Mary School, also in Bethel.
“Angela is a tremendous athlete, and Coach Zengo developed a program that not only brought out the best in Angela but everyone else in the club,’’ Foley said. “She did some tremendous coaching work this year, and producing an All-American at any level is no small accomplishment. The whole WRC family is proud of Angela and coach Zengo.”
Saidman earned a berth in the national race by taking second in the regional championships in Long Island in November.
