WILTON, Conn. The Wilton eighth-grade girls, sponsored by Rings End, pulled off a thrilling come-from-behind victory over New Fairfield, 41-40.
After her team trailed by double digits in the first quarter, Karen Brosko kicked into high gear and pulled in a season-high 19 points, including a clutch three-pointer. Sarah Fitzgerald rose to the challenge and answered New Fairfields early game traps with multiple steals and 10 points.
Later in the third quarter, New Fairfield ran for eight unanswered points, until Zoe Lamason turned the momentum with seven points and aggressive play under the boards. Hanna Previte, Rachel Gordon and MacAllan Fox all pulled in multiple offensive and defensive rebounds to keep the Warriors alive when they were trailing the Rebels.
The Wilton eighth graders (11-5) take on Westport PAL on Saturday and Shelton on Sunday.
