WILTON, Conn. A 15-point first-quarter deficit proved to much to overcome for the Wilton 6th grade travel basketball team. Taking on Darien YMCA in the Joe Coppo Tournament, Wilton fell to Darien 46-30.
Wilton rebounded in the second and third quarters, going on a 19-6 run and pulling withing six points. But Darien's Will Enzor knocked down a three-pointer midway through the third, deflating Wilton's comeback chances. Darien finished on a 18-8 run to lock the victory.
Scott Cunningham led Wilton with 11 points. Matt Olsen scored six, Chris Sancy five.
Wilton will play three more games in the Coppo Tournament this weekend. The 6th graders begin their league game schedule next Saturday against Mt. Vernon, N.Y.
