Wahoos Earn National Honors

Several Wilton Y Wahoos were recognized for achieving USA Swimming National Top 10 times for their individual ages in the 2009-10 short course and long course seasons. Wilton's KC Moss ranked first in the nation among 15-year-olds in the 200-yard breaststroke with a time of 2:12.78.

The Wahoos who earned Top 10 recognition include:

• KC Moss: first, age 15, 200 short course (SCY) breaststroke, 2:12.78; second, age 15, 200 long course (LCM) breaststroke; and third, age 15, 100 LCM breaststroke, 1:11.40.

• Christian Higgins of New Canaan: second, age 17, 200 LCM breaststroke, 2:14.14; second, age 17, 200 SCY breaststroke, 1:57.61; third, age 17, 100 SCY breaststroke, 55.16; eighth, age 16, 100 SCY breaststroke, 56.25; eighth, age 16, 200 SCY breaststroke 2:03.32; and third, age 17, 100 LCM breaststroke, 1:02.90.

• Eric Ronda, fifth, age 16, 200 LCM breaststroke, 2:20.17; 10th, age 15, 200 SCY breaststroke, 2:05.13.

• Shelby Fortin of Weston, eighth, age 17, 500 SCY freestyle, 4:44.87; and 10th, ages 15-18, 200 meter medley relay, 2:00.41.

• Adam Liebovitz, Eric Ronda, Ed Becker and Derrian Duryea, third, ages 15-18, 200-meter medley relay, 1:48.06.

• Jordan Berger, Sam Delise, Jourdan Stewart and Tommy Kealy, seventh, age 13-14, 400-meter medley relay, 4:16.05.

• Shelby Fortin, Emily Weir, Alyssa LaFrenierre and Katy Luchansky, 10th, ages 15-18, 200-meter medley relay, 2:00.41.

USA Swimming's National Age Group Recognition Program is a national awards program recognizing age group swimmers across the nation. It is administered by the USA Swimming Times and Recognition Committee with the assistance of the USA Swimming Staff and LSC Times Verification Officers.
