The Bryan brothers will return to the club for the second consecutive year in an exhibition against Max Mirnyi and Horia Tecäu, the sixth-ranked doubles team in the world. The event will benefit the National Tennis Foundation and local organization, Norwalk Grassroots Tennis.

With their win earlier this month at Wimbledon, the Bryan Brothers became the first pair in the Open Era and the first duo since 1951 to hold all four Grand Slam doubles titles simultaneously. They also won the gold medal in last year’s Summer Olympics in London.

The brothers have won 91 doubles championships, including 15 Grand Slam titles. They also hold the U.S. Davis Cup doubles team record and have been the world No. 1 doubles team longer than anyone else in doubles history.

“We are very excited about having Bob and Mike Bryan back to the Lake Club again this year,” said Berend van Toor, director of tennis at the Lake Club. “They are the greatest men’s doubles team ever, and the match-up with Max Mirnyi and Horia Tecau, could be a preview of the U.S. Open finals in September.”

Last year, the event was sold out and raised more than $50,000. Both nonprofit groups offer after-school tennis programs to under privileged and inner city youth. For more information on these charities, go to www.nationaltennisfoundation.org and www.norwalkgrassrootstennis.com.

A limited number of tickets for the exhibition are available for purchase for $75 by going to www.premiertennistravel.com.  In addition, for those attending the exhibition, tickets are also available for dinner and entertainment featuring the Bryan Brothers performing in their band. For information on this event contact the Lake Club Pro Shop at 203-762-1663. Sponsorship opportunities are available on several levels. Contact van Toor at 203-762-1663 for sponsorship opportunities.

Doors will open at 3 p.m. for a pro-am to be followed by an NCAA tennis exhibition and live auction. The professional exhibition will start at 5:30 p.m.
