Fairfield County U13 Boys Soccer Team Wins Title

FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. – The Everton America Under 13 boys soccer team defeated the GFC Gunners last weekend to win the State Cup tournament, an event run by the Connecticut Junior Soccer Association.

Everton scored a goal early in the first half and added another late in the second half to take home the title. Everton also defeated Northeast United, 5-2, CFC Rocky Hill, 7-0, and Valeo, 2-1, en route to the title.

Everton’s U13s won tournaments on Long Island and New Jersey in the fall season as well as topping its regional league. Everton is ranked No. 5 in the nation by gotsoccer.com.

With the state cup win behind them the team now focuses on closing out the season in its regional league. The team is currently competing in the inaugural season of the NY Club Soccer League, a National Premier League, part of U.S. Club Soccer’s vision to improve competition and development. With two games left to play a league title would see the team travel to Chicago in late July to compete in the National Premier League Champions Cup potentially against MLS Academy teams from around the country. The team will also compete in the U.S. Youth Region 1 Championships in Pennsylvania in June.

Team members include  Roger Marment of Stamford, Murray Riach of Weston, Jack Brandt of Wilton, Nik Parker of Weston, Chris Watts of New Milford, Jake Silverstein of Weston, Ben Silverstein of Weston, Ian Richling of Weston, Biagio Paoletta of Fairfield, Harrison Gill of Darien, Will Marment of Stamford, Scott Uitterdijk of Wilton, Noah Hilt of New Canaan, Bruno Aguillon of Trumbull, Jonny Schuster of Fairfield, Elvis Rodriguez of Stratford, Cameron Okoro of Weston, Julian Stifano of Bethel and Nolan Marino ofKillingworth.  Everton is coached by Alex Cunliffe.
