FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. The Everton America CT Under-13 boys soccer team, which includes many players from Fairfield County, will compete on Saturday in the US Youth Soccer Region 1 Northeast League Final against Western United FC of Southborough, Mass.
The game is scheduled for 8 p.m. at Kristine Lilly Field in Wilton. The league runs from March 1 through May 14.
Teams are placed into one of two brackets for a seven-game regular season. The winner of each bracket moves on to play in the final. Everton won its bracket with a 6-0-1 record. Western United finished 5-2.
Everton defeated many of the regions top ranked teams including Beachside of CT, FSA FC U13 Boys Navy and Brentwood SC Aquila.
Everton is ranked first in the state, fourth in the region and seventh in the nation according to rankings posted by Gotsoccer.com. The team is coached by Norwalk's Alex Cunliffe, Everton Americas Director of Coaching.
