WILTON, Conn. - At Emerson's 134th undergraduate commencement ceremony last month, 900 bachelor's degrees and more than 300 master's degrees were conferred in Boston.

Eric Smolen of Wilton graduated with a bachelor of science degree in Interdisciplinary.

Jay Leno, an alumnus, author, producer, and former host of "The Tonight Show With Jay Leno," delivered the undergraduate address, and Scott Simon, author, journalist, and host of NPR's "Weekend Edition Saturday," gave the graduate address.

Both were presented with honorary degrees as were hunger relief advocate Catherine D'Amato, CEO of The Greater Boston Food Bank, and CNN news anchor Don Lemon.

Located in Boston, opposite the Boston Common and in the heart of the city's Theatre District, Emerson College educates individuals who will solve problems and change the world through engaged leadership in communication and the arts, a mission informed by liberal learning.

The College has 3,660 undergraduates and 829 graduate students from across the United States and 75 countries.
