WILTON, Conn. Familiar faces will be gracing the TV now that the Wilton High School Challenge team has advanced to the second round of the MSG Varsity quiz show.
The Wilton team will take on Jonathan Law High School of Milford on Tuesday, Feb. 28, at 6:30 p.m.
The Wilton High School team is represented by William Jankowski, Mohsin Jawed, Captain Simon Brewer, Molly Hoch and alternate John Jankowski. The academic adviser is Terry Ragazzini.
"American Idol" semifinalist Jared Cotter returned as host for the third season. He will act as as moderator, testing competing teams on history, arts and literature, current events, math and science.
The 192 schools participating from the tri-state area compete in a series of elimination rounds, with one school in each region becoming regional champion and winning $2,500 for their school.
The winning teams from each region go on to The Challenge championship, where they square off in a Tri-State Showdown.
The ultimate winner will be named Tri-State Champion and receive $10,000 in prize money. Each student participating in the final Challenge Championship game will receive $500.
