FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. -- State Sen. Toni Boucher earned praise from Senate Minority Leader John McKinney for her perfect attendance during her six years in office.

“As is documented in the official report of the legislature each year, she has literally not missed a day of legislative session or a single vote since being elected to the State Senate in 2008,” McKinney said. “Toni’s work ethic, integrity, ability to multi-task and work well with all sides on difficult issues are the reasons I’ve given her not one, or two leadership positions but three. I always know I can count on her to get things done under tight deadlines and handle difficult, controversial issues well.” Boucher is current chief deputy minority leader in the Senate and ranking member of the General Assembly’s Transportation, Education and Higher Education committees. She is also a member of the Finance Committee. Her district includes Bethel, New Canaan, Redding, Ridgefield, Weston, Westport and Wilton. “Her ability to juggle legislative responsibilities, district issues and constituent advocacy in a conscientious way and at a very high level, while still balancing her private professional work and family responsibilities, make this 100 voting and attendance record even more remarkable,” added McKinney. “I am grateful for Senate Minority Leader McKinney’s faith in me and his providing me with numerous leadership opportunities in my work on behalf of the people of the 26th district,'' Boucher said. “I’m proud of my 100 percent voting and attendance record. I consider it a huge responsibility to represent my constituents in the senate. There’s so much at stake and so much to be done in order to restore our state's lagging economy and improve our transportation and educational systems."
