Himes spoke with McFadden about issues important to the town. Following their discussion, he endorsed McFadden’s candidacy.
“It’s great that Wilton finally has a choice," he said. "As an important town within the 4th Congressional District I serve, I look forward to continue working with Deb as she, together with an engaged community, responsibly make the tough leadership decisions necessary for a greater quality of life and future economic growth.”
McFadden — a registered Democrat and vice chair of the Wilton Democratic Town Committee — announced her candidacy for first selectman late last June.
If she wins, McFadden would be the first Democrat to hold the seat in 42 years.
Current First Selectman Bill Brennan is not running for re-election. The Republican candidate is Lynne Vanderslice in the November election.
